Well this was a nice surprise! :D I've been a bit preoccupied for the last few months, and have neglected to sign in to my DA account. Upon my return, I'm greeted by a monsoon of wonderful, kind comments and a DD! ^_^ My first DD, I'm so happy. :D

I couldn't possibly respond to everyone individually, so this journal entry is for all you lovely folk out there. THANKS SO MUCH! Thanks for the comments and the faves.

For those wanting to keep up with what I'm up to (such as the planning of my upcoming wedding in September '09), I've created a new blog over at [link] This will display my artworks as well as anything else going on. If you're into daily prattling, check out my twitter account at [link]

Thanks again everyone!

Somewhere between working on my tutorials, my day job and other every-day-life-fodder, I've been working on a few new artworks! I cannot wait for them to be out of the way :P I've got one new digital painting on the way (my first proper trip back to painting since my "Water" picture created back in 2006) and a couple One-of-a-Kind (OOAK) sculptures in the works also.

If I get the time to complete the blasted thing, I'll enter my painting into Ballistic Publishing's new book D'Artiste: Digital Painting 2. Hopefully they'll like it enough to publish another of my pics. *brow sweat* I won't post the picture here until after I hear the verdict.

I'll be posting my sculptures here when they're done. I've been experimenting with a new armature technique- if you see a bunch of cracks in my new works, you'll know I failed. ;)

Tutorial Series Under Way!

  • Drinking: Water.....it's good for the brain!
FINALLY, after many distractions, I’ve begun work on a series of written tutorials on sculpting in polymer clay. :work:

My first book is on armature creation, and knowing me, its going to be a mean read. After that, I will be moving on to sculpting, then dressing the sculpt (painting, wigging, etc). When these books have been completed, I will write up a ‘ prequel’ to the tutorial series on conceptual work, and creating armature maps (which falls into design, not armature construction).

I haven’t got an agent, and I’m too poor to self-publish, so I’ll be running the books off cheaply and selling them online and in my local community. Of course, if any of you lovely folk out there work for a big Australian publishing company and want to run my books, feel free to email me! Lol.

:fingerscrossed: Yeeeaah........

After completion of my books, I will be creating a DVD series, much in the same vain as the books, but with more information and more features. It will also be good for those who like to follow along, sculpting while they learn. I will be selling these DVDs online and in my local community.

That’s the plan, anyway! Wish me luck, I’ll need every bit! :D

My digital illustration, "Water: Story After Oil", has made it into one of Ballistic Publishing's books, called Exotique 3. I believe it is to get a half-page display on page 138. The small size probably doesn't do the image justice, but I'm still thrilled that I got in! The book will soon be published.

To see the original image "Oil" (my first digital illustration), go to:

The story is essentially the same as "Water"- the oil wanted to be water, and she gave them that.
